1. What is your favourite month, and why?
April for me, like Tristan. The winter is definitely over, and you can enjoy not only the bright days themselves, but the knowledge that you have plenty more to come before the winter curfew kicks in again.

2. What non-MB-related thing did you do immediately before reading this?
I have about 1 sq. metre of green in the broken pavement in front of my house which gets my obssessive attention, so I was doing 5 mins of what you might call "urban gardening".

3. What is or was your favourite board game?
Board games were a great source of fun in pre-internet days. They came like fads with me and my companions: Monopoly, chess, a world-domination game whose name I can't rembember, then Scrabble, and finally the Japanese game, Go.

4. Generally speaking, do you find it difficult or easy to find clothes in your size (in other words, are you a fat/tall/short/skinny bastard?)
The only difficulty I have is finding the enthusiasm to walk into a clothes shop. I preferred, in England, to go to charity shops, where you can look at clothes and books in the same visit.

5. What was the very first media you owned for music (CD/MP3 player/Record player/Gramaphone/Edison wax tube phonograph/caveman drums etc)?
Like you, TH, a box record player with a handle on the side so that you could carry it like a suitcase.

6. If you have a favourite flag, which is it and why?
I like the Brazilian flag, and rather shamefacedly must confess to liking the union jack too. Less, I hope, for nationalistic reasons than for its cool design. Used to be a v popular design motif back in the swinging 60s and more recently, for a school project, I remember showing my son how it was put together using overlaying crosses of coloured paper.

Yep, no-one likes flies in their house. Not my business TH, but have you considered buying some mosquito netting? Depending how your windows are, you could leave them open all summer long. That's what people do here, only closing the windows when a storm starts blowing the rain in horizontally.

Yeah I did have them and they were great. But then I switched from curtains to blinds and it's just not possible any more. Never mind actually fitting the damn things so that your blinds don't pull them down - as soon as you open or close the blinds, ie pull the cord to raise or lower them, down they come! So unfortunately, with blinds there is no way to use an insect net without it tumbling down daily, necessitating its being stuck back up (while the flies and bluebottles merrily pour in past you) so kind of defeats the purpose.

Yeah, it's surprisingly tricky to get windows doing exactly what you want them to under various conditions.

Typical window sandwich we have here, from outside going in: security bars, louvre windows, mosquito screen. I don't personally like louvre windows, but they can be opened and closed without busting through the bread slices of your window sandwich.

Playing Axis & Allies by yourself with shifting alliances is a sad but thoroughly entertaining way to spend a week.

1. What is your favourite month, and why?
October. Love the cooler temps (yet not too cold as in the brutal winter months), the refreshing crisp air and beautiful autumn foliage colors.

2. What non-MB-related thing did you do immediately before reading this?
Splashed my face in the bathroom sink with cold water. My eyes are tired today.

3. What is or was your favourite board game?
Operation, my great-grandmother’s old Mensch ärgere Dich nicht board game, Scrabble, Trivial Pursuit, Chess.

4. Generally speaking, do you find it difficult or easy to find clothes in your size (in other words, are you a fat/tall/short/skinny bastard?)
Fairly easy. I’m slim and borderline tall (5’8”) but not overly tall to cause length issues, so generally don't have difficulties with fitting to standard size.

5. What was the very first media you owned for music (CD/MP3 player/Record player/Gramaphone/Edison wax tube phonograph/caveman drums etc)?
First media I purchased in my teens with summer job money - a Panasonic all-in-one stereo with turntable, tuner, amp and dual tape deck.

6. If you have a favourite flag, which is it and why?
I'm not overly fond of any flag, but I like the Kiribati flag – a tranquil image, and I love birds.

Or a flag I can listen to.
