On the other end of the spectrum you have my Daughter's mother, who backed herself into a doorknob and told the police I had hit her in the back with a hammer. Off to jail I went. After that, I wizened up and would only be around her if I had witnesses, which came into play when she hit herself in the head with a brick and called the cops. The cops laughed and told her to get the **** off my property, as I was in the process of removing her from my home. Good times man, good times.

Violence sucks.
That's complicated, too. We can only do what the law says we can, and what the evidence says happened. Hence why you were arrested. Evidence always trumps he said/she said (hear say).

It's a really frustrating situation from the standpoint of a Law Enforcement Officer because you want to protect the victim and while you can advise them to press charges, you can't force them. And if they don't press charges then guess what? The abuser gets out, charges are dropped. And next time you could end up worse off than this time.

Haven't hit anybody in about a month. I'm down with violence right now.

That would be a caffeine addiction. Congrats, you're legally addicted to a legal drug.

im a little ashamed to admit this but i slapped my ex once.

it was at the time our relationship was becoming a toxic one and we were having intense epic fights that were bound to end to end in physical violence and when it actually did happen and i slapped her i realised we had to break up cause it was gonna happen again.

My ex's Bf used to beat her up so me slapping her once didn't really phase her much but i remember it made me feel like a monster, it made feel like those wife beaters i hate.

In my defense though, my ex was a hysterical violence prone GF she broke 2 of my phones and threw a f*ckin rice cooker at me with rice still in it! If i haven't dodge it i could've been seriously hurt.

Well, when she threw the rice cooker at you (I'm assuming this was a prior incident to the slapping one), why didn't you realize then and there that this situation was going nowhere and needed to be terminated (or did you and ignored it)?

The answer is the belief that the relationship will work, and that the person will change. That's why you didn't drop it when the rice cooker was flung at your head. The interesting part to me, however, is that when YOU were attacked, this didn't trigger your flight response. It was when you did the attacking that your flight response was triggered to get out of the relationship.

There is no lie. Caffeine addiction is perfectly legal. Remember kids, doing drugs isn't illegal, it's being in possession of them that is.
