Oh apparently it's a UK thing. Don't know why it would be illegal here but whatever since you're not legally allowed to give money to the mail chick then fine give her gift cards but also write your congressman to change the law so you don't have to do that bull****. I'm sure if you asked her after a few drinks she'd take a check over a gift card in a heartbeat.

1. It is not more special than cash. Gift cards are a marketing loophole to trick people into thinking they can essentially just give people cash.

2. Gift cards are just another form of monetary value and if you're exchanging gift cards then you're swapping money. At least a REAL gift would have some emotional value other than just money.

Why give me socks? Just give me the 5 bucks and if I need socks that’s what I’ll buy. But I’m socially retarded
Speaking for myself I already pointed out that irony.

I have a hard time understanding why you don’t just keep your money for gas and she keeps hers for groceries and cut out the middleman.

If I get a gift card, which I don’t because I don’t exhange gifts with people, but if I did get one or when I got things in the past I just though ****ing Christ I hope they aren’t expecting something in return next year.

A few years back someone gave me $20 to the Gap because of I did some extra work with disabled students and I was just like goddamn I’m not going to the ****ing mall. I think it’s still sitting around somewhere expired.

Yeah, so you want to bake some cookies for the postal people to share during Xmas? Sure.
You wanna give a $20 gift card for their service. Sure.
...but don't have some harebrained idea that it's some kind of damn conspiracy between
capitalist overlords and the postal service.
It 100% is a marketing scheme though

lol literally same except it was my uncle. $20 Gap gift card I never used cause I had no desire to go the ****ing Gap. A couple times he even asked me if I'd spent it yet and if I wasn't going to spend it then I could give it back so he could get me something else or something, and in my head I'm just like "Bitch, this is the first interaction we've had in years and now you're stressing me out over a gift card while I'm trying to pretend to be grateful for something you put thirty seconds of thought into? Step off!"

Holy **** I hate Hotmail. I only have one Hotmail account left but it's connected to a lot of stuff so I maintain it and I just tried to login and it asked me if my contact email was still correct and since it's one of my dead Hotmail accounts I tried to say no so I could change the contact email and do you know what Hotmail ****ing did after asking for my password?

IT ****ING ASKED ME TO VERIFY MY ACCOUNT BY SENDING AN EMAIL TO THE DEAD CONTACT EMAIL! WTF GOD DAMN ****ING STUPID **** IS THIS?! NOW I HAVE TO GO THROUGH EMAIL ACCOUNT RETRIEVAL HELL FOR NO GOD DAMN ****ING REASON! **** YOU, HOTMAIL! EAT **** AND DIE!

It did give me a good laugh though.

I mean, discogs is free, and all you have to do is look and spend two minutes to find out if it's worth something. You don't even have to be smart to find this stuff out, he just sounds like a lazy *******.

I get there's hundreds of pressings, but aren't there catalog numbers that will help narrow it down? I'm sure there's dedicated groups online that also help with that as well. For years I've of heard tales of mean, clueless people coming into stores looking to get rid of their Beatles records thinking they're worth a lot. Then again, I'm not a Beatles fan.

Cat#'s are associated with the country of release for a particular label. For example, Dark Side of the Moon Cat# is SMAS-11163 for the US pressing on Harvest. That number alone however spans decades of reissues and represses. You have so many variants with these albums from Pink Floyd or the Beatles that using a Cat# alone yields you pretty much nothing. Pressing plant info which is found in the matrix numbers, coupled with Cover and Label changes throughout the years of reissuing the album is used to determine what "pressing" you have.

Sometimes the difference between an album made in 1968 and an album made in 1973, five years later, is an extra number or letter in the deadwax or an added address on the back corner of a sleeve.

I have researched THOUSANDS of Beatles records over the years and still consider myself a novice at recognizing what is what by eye. You could honestly have a full scale college course of information on identifying Beatles records.

Records are not like books which have unique ISBN numbers. Records are f*cking stupid. Sh*t, even barcodes are unchanged from reissue to reissue.
