Yeah same. I will never go hunting cause I don't want to kill a deer or a rabbit, I want to be friends with them, but the moral logic of being against hunting should also require terrorism against the meat industry so my stance is like a moral standoff where nobody gets to have high ground.

There can still be morally stupid justifications for hunting, but the environmental catastrophe of the destruction of predator animals makes it super easy to justify your love of hunting by just saying yes I like hunting but culling populations of non-predator animals by human hunters is a necessity and if you're not self-aware enough to even say that then yeah you're open to accusations of being a ****head.

I'm not giving up burgers and steak, **** that.

I've never hunted myself and probably never will. I like fishing though. I almost always release the fish though after getting a picture.

...I mean you don't have to take it to the extreme of eco terrorism. You could just not eat meat. If you don't even give a **** enough to do that then you basically just don't give much of a **** at all.

I never went hunting but i did shoot a black bird in the alley behind our apt building when I was 14. He was sitting on the power line and I shot him with a bb gun pistol right through the head from about 50 ft away. Never in my life have I had that kinda luck. God wanted that bird dead.

I mean I think people don't treat distinctions between human and animal life the same not because they don't care on a moral level but because they are acculturated to not valuing animal life the same. There's no actual moral argument for it other than just cultural norms.

I don't think animal life and human life are equal.

Our attitudes about the sanctity of life are shaped by culture. In a meat eating society our values are shaped to value animal life less. I'm sure there's an instinct to value human life more but the culture reinforces that even for the most fervent vegan.
