bad plumbing? I thought bidets were a bit on the classy side and they are usually located next to toilets and just an alternative to using TP for women after urinating

Serves many more functions actually. But yes they started out in palaces, and were initially used for couples to clean up before sex.

Bidets are posh. I was at a party in a friends house and wanted to use his cos I was drunk, I imagine it would be weird. I'd want to dry my ass afterwards.

We have one upstairs... For some reason. Thought it was a bath for fairies when i was younger.
