what's really bad is when both parties are totally smashed; it's practically impossible to feel or think at that point. it just becomes gross/weird.

Well yes obviously. I've never been in that situation though. Drunk sex does not appeal to either of us so it doesn't happen. Maybe after a couple of drinks, but not after an all night bender.
