The only people whose opinions should matter to you are your family and your friends, and if they are your true friends they won't care what is on your legs.

But here's some advice. Anyone can start a new trend I think. I don't think preaching on a forum like this one is the way to start a trend. If you're too self conscious or whatever to make a fashion statement yourself then I dunno, maybe try and start a (non sleazy) magazine or website that challenges ideals of feminine beauty and promotes alternatives.
Yep, the U.S. and many places in the world are much more accepting of diversity than in the past. Appreciation of individuality is very strong here, and it is getting better all the time, I feel, meaning that people are more accepting of all kinds of diversity. Live and let live is more likely to be people's motto than "let's go string that person up!"

Oh, I'm certainly out and about with my hair...I'm not too self-conscious...and I agree with you that the opinions of strangers don't really matter, though it does get a little funny/odd to be stared at soooo verrryyyy mucccchhhhh for something so...normal. You would like to think that people who love you don't care very when you are "unique." Sometimes even that is a struggle, though, but I agree with you that someone who loves you deeply and is not worried about her or his own self-image will accept you as you are. People aren't always at that stage, though, even if they love you.

Heh heh...I'm mostly posting in these threads about hair issues to argue with YOU and pick your brain about this issue, boo boo . You're my "hair-pal."

Also, I do want to increase people's familiarity with women having their hair; I'm not trying to start a new trend, just increase acceptance (whic I admit is the first STEP toward a new trend). Hopefully, people knowing of one person (me) who has her hair will make them feel less shocked when they see a real, live woman who doesn't shave. Just like now, thanks to you, when I see bald women I will be less surprised since I've seen and thought about baldness due to your affinity for it!

I think the longer you stick to something the more people will get used to it and accept it as a part of who you are. I don't really get teased by family for the hair anymore but I did at first. We still have rednecks around here with big mullets so it's not like I've chosen the most ridiculous hairstyle possible.

I'm a boy. I will stay a boy. That would be weird to me if I was not a boy. O.o

I love being female, but at the same time, long for some male traits. Being female does provide its pros, and its cons. I hate how women in general are more emotional than men. I hate how men have the choice of peeing standing up, I honestly don't know why any man would sit down, it seems more effort. People are more lenient with men sleeping about which is quite unfair. I'd kill for a penis for one whole day. I think it'd be awesome and make everything so much easier... That's how it'd seem to me anyway!

I like that women wear their emotions on their sleeve instead of bottling it up. And their empathy is obviously what makes them great mothers.

I don't ever pee standing up actually. It takes more effort for me to unzip and find out where the flap is and pull your d*ck out and then not to get piss all over your pants. And when you have a boner aiming is a bitch. And for me at least it's harder to actually pee, sitting is way more comfortable, I can take my time and get every drop out much more easily and it doesn't have to feel like I'm rushing which is how guys end up pissing their underwear, I think you get more blood going down there when you sit down so it's easier to control your urinary tract, sometimes when I try peeing standing up I end up putting so much strain on my tract that it starts hurting. So I don't care how macho it is, it f*cking sucks. Besides if you wan't to pee standing up there's devices for that now.

I agree that it's unfair how women are expected to be monogamous while men can sleep around. Totally unfair. Something needs to be done about that.

I personally don't wear my emotions on my sleeve, I'm very quite private. But I still hate how ****ing emotional I can get over nothing. It pisses me off. I'm just very good at hiding it, alot of people don't know alot about me. Including people here, and I'm sure it'd ****ing surprise you. I don't care to have children so I don't need empathy! haha. Joking, but still it can be very annoying when you can't think straight because you have all these emotions clouding everything over.

I've never seen a device that enables me to pee standing up but alot of people use them for festivals, I'm not sure I'd like it. It seems unhygienic to have a bag of piss resting against your thigh. Doesn't do much for me personally .

No that's not what I'm talking about.

I'm talking about the SheWee.

Anyway I know what it feels like to have emotional problems, I take pills for manic depression but I have pretty bad mood swings because I don't take them like I should. Guys have emotions too, they have simply been taught at an early age that they need to hide it (so as not to be pussies) so they're better at doing that.

But anyway. What do you consider the pros of being a girl?

I think being able to be half of the equation for procreation is a pretty good pro.
