Just know that he's really a sci-fi cartoonist above all. But he does take a very unusual approach and I love how especially his newer stories feel very surreal and dreamlike. I really need to track down all volumes (two, I think) of Juliet & Roem, which has some lose connections to the Romeo and Juliet story.

Shohei Otomo (son of Akira artist Katsuhiro Otomo) makes some really awesome artwork. One of my personal favorite artists.
