Maybe use smaller bowls. You'd be amazed how long it takes for water to boil in a big container (in a microwave).

Do you have a kettle? Boiling water on my stove takes a while. I try to jump start things by using the kettle.

I took my kids to a family restaurant. I ordered a salad, the kids spaghetti. While I took one kid to the washroom, the other took my balsamic vinaigrette, and dumped it in his spaghetti. It was a failed science experiment for him.

Finally managed to guess correctly and not overcook the Italian sausage and it was a bombass bowl of spaghetti. Got another bowl covered in plastic wrap in the fridge and a couple already cooked sausages I'll throw on hotdog buns to eat over the next couple days. Maybe one day I'll venture into actually making my own sauce.
