Default Songs that could (but don't) reference the global banking crisis

I don't know about you, but I've had it up to here with Soulflower's pontificating in her thread about how current artists, sorry, mainstream artists, sorry pop artists, sorry big pop artists etc etc etc don't write about social issues, so here's something to relieve that a little maybe.

Nobody of course (that I know of) wrote any songs specifically against what happened with the global financial bust, but there are plenty of songs that could be used to illustrate it, so post yours. Basically, anything to do with money, banks, homes, mortgages, gambling, getting away with murder and so on. I know this situation is certainly not funny, but it almost is a thing to laugh at when you see how the perpetrators of this global fiasco have been "dealt with"...

So all in fun then, here are some obvious choices

and maybe one not so obvious

This is the greatest pop song ever written on this subject....

it's alright 'cos the historical pattern has shown
how the economical cycle tends to revolve
in a round of decades three stages stand out in a loop
a slump and war then peel back to square one and back for more

bigger slump and bigger wars and a smaller recovery
huger slump and greater wars and a shallower recovery

you see the recovery always comes 'round again
there's nothing to worry for things will look after themselves
it's alright recovery always comes 'round again
there's nothing to worry if things can only get better

there's only millions that lose their jobs and homes and sometimes accents
there's only millions that die in their bloody wars, it's alright

it's only their lives and the lives of their next of kin that they are losing
it's only their lives and the lives of their next of kin that they are losing

it's alright 'cos the historical pattern has shown
how the economical cycle tends to revolve
in a round of decades three stages stand out in a loop
a slump and war then peel back to square one and back for more

bigger slump and bigger wars and a smaller recovery
huger slump and greater wars and a shallower recovery

don't worry be happy things will get better naturally
don't worry shut up sit down go with it and be happy

I love that Stereolab song, but I'd never paid much attention to the lyrics. Pretty cool!
