I reckon it would save me about 2 to 3 cents on my annual electric bill.

I don't need to be reminded to use less electric power. My monthly electric bill is more than enough to motivate me to use less electricity throughout the year.

Well, global warming is a big deal, so arrangements related to it should be given attention. But I do think that this event shouldn't get hyped, because even though it's meant to raise awareness, what it does is make sofa activists think they're actually doing a good job by saving light for one hour, and thus setting the bar really low.

"Don't despair! We can save this doomed world by turning off the light for an hour! That'll help!"

Plus I can see Hannity making huge fun of it on his show for being so lame.

That'd be a nice break from him unintentionally making fun of himself on his show for being so lame.

I see this is a way to spread awareness more than a "look, i'm doing my part".

I'm going to start a National "Turn Off the Light When Leaving a Room" movement.

Let's say you have 3 people living in your home and each of them saves 15 minutes of electricity a day just by turning off the light when leaving a room - even if it's for only a few minutes at a time.

3 x 15 minutes = 45 minutes x 365 days = 16,425 = 274 hours a year.

Earth Hour? Phffffft.
