Terminal illness = Fly in all of your friends and family members. Hire your favorite band. Live it up until you die, because you're gonna die anyhow. Unless you use your ton of money to buy suppressed or experimental medical cures, thus saving yourself.

Loss of a loved one = Therapy. Buy anything and everything that makes you happy.

Being held hostage with $10,000,000 in cash but you can't leave the room = Call the A-Team to break you out.

I'm fairly well versed in depression. I've experienced it myself. Also had friends and family members deal with it and attempt suicide, so fuck off if you think you know me and my life.

Aside from insane, never-gonna-happen scenarios, tell me one problem IN YOUR OWN life that wouldn't be made better by having unlimited resources? And be honest!

Obviously not. Also, I'm not personally attacking you with your family issues. I know a little of what you've been through and I'm terribly sorry you've gone through that. That does't make your opinion any less ignorant I'm afraid. If you said that it's a personal belief and that is just how you feel, I could at least respect your opinion, but the examples you're giving with the "money beats depression" ideal is just...I don't even know what it is. It's insane.

Same here, that's why I keep things succinct.

Save it. When your wife attempts suicide numerous times and gets locked away in a nut house half a dozen times, then divorces you, call me. But I got over it WITHOUT a ton of money, but being rich would haver made it a whole lot easier FOR ME.

I prefaced this WHOLE shebang by saying that it goes against everything moral and natural in this world. But pragmatically speaking, it makes sense to me. I'm not saying that it is right or moral or logical, just that it has yet to be proven wrong in my eyes.

Okay, for every situation that I listed, having money would make it better FOR ME.

Dude.

Depression isn't scenario based. This is my point and I know I'm going back on what I said when I said I wasn't going to argue. I'll be brief.

You think depression is being sad. My dog died. I'm sad. I'm poor. I'm sad. The Lakers lost. I'm sad.

That's not how depression works. Depression is an innate feeling of emotionless dread and darkness. You can get therapy to help with it and a lot of people get better but it's not a matter of changing your surroundings or bank account. F*ck. I can't even imagine how you can think that dude.

If I gave you a million dollars after your sister passed away and said "Here. Now you can be happy." you'd punch me in the f*cking face. It's insulting to yourself to think that.

My depression? I guess you're still not getting it.

I'm glad for you but your direct statement was that depression isn't a disease and that if you're rich and kill yourself then f*ck you.

Don't act like you didn't say that and you're just stating a humble personal ideal.

First off, $1 million is not a shit ton of money in my eyes. Second, I wouldn't accept it, because you could spend that money in so many better ways, like feeding and housing the homeless. But if you were to talk me into taking it, I would thank you [not with a punch in the face] and use it to make myself happier, if only temporarily. Again, money MAKES THINGS EASIER AND BETTER, not necessarily fixes them. I probably said it fixes them automatically, and I misspoke / was wrong. My bad.
