Unofficial memorial today with some old friends. Draining.

I watched that Freddie Mercury movie. It's completely self indulgent.

Lucem, you're right, it's silly to talk about what I would or wouldn't do IRL. Glad you brought it up. Maybe you should write an instrumental about it. I recommend a piano paired with a clarinet. With ambient sounds of you hanging from your shower curtain you ****ing failure.

I heard that film sucks, just a grab for social security checks.

It's entertaining but just felt phony as hell to me. Reading up on it, I'm not wrong either.

I didn't think it was horrible and I ****ing hate Queen. It was at time annoyingly indulgent towards Mercury, but part of me is glad that it wasn't just a giant music video like the trailers kept making it out to be. It was fairly standard and didn't blow my socks off, nor did it convince me to like Queen.

One thing that stood out to me was how much Joseph Mazzello looked like John Deacon. **** was scary.

I totally agree. What annoyed me the most was the part where they linger on the record exec on the "you are the losers" lyric. If that guy was actually real (he wasn't, that guy was completely fabricated and played by Mike Myers making that one line funnier) he wasn't necessarily a loser. He was still rich and still had plenty of successful artists under his belt. Things like that were just superbly annoying and indulgent to me personally.

Same. I went in expecting to be bored by it and ended up pleasantly surprised by how much I liked it.
