If you're expecting me to believe that the NWOBHM that kicked off in the late 70s early 80s in Britain and which heavily sped up 70s hard rock just ignored 70s punk that came up just before the NWOBHM got started then you're still a delusional butthurt dad rocker. Punk was massive for the movement.

That's certainly one way to look back on it with hindsight, but not the only way.
And definitely not one I agree with at all.

Steve Harris (and Iron Maiden) got way more out a song like Roundabout with Chris Squire than he did from any punk music.

The more I think about it, the Iron Maiden and Punk association makes zero sense at all.

But hey, your opinion man.

HI DON, I'm Marie/Maria, we briefly met when you came back an earlier time, but nice to see you around again (even though I love punk and dislike most 70s hard rock lol). And congratulations on being sober for so long, that's an amazing feat!

Hope you checked out the Squire clip long enough to get to this part:

Another one that probably dug into Harris's brain.

Punk we survived. It was disco and the lack of people dancing that stopped us getting booked into the good clubs.

That and:

- more girls came to dance, which meant guys came to score
- lotta dancing = lotta sweating = lotta drinking
- in the beginning DJs simply undercut the bands

win, win, win for the club owners.

HEY TROLLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
