As I’m working from home for the foreseeable future, I’ve been proactively taking steps to make the experience as tranquil and enjoyable as possible. First I undertook a project transporting all 16 of the antiques and framed art pieces I’d used to furnish my workplace office to my home and now it feels like a palace!

And I've invested in a special new mug for my twice-daily tea ritual. I had dreamt of a drip-glaze mug exactly like this and found its perfect match from a potter online! Hooray for simple pleasures. <3

Been off cigs for about a month and a few days now. Very very few hiccups along the way. I think this is the time.

Ive lived through periods where obnoxious black people made my day ****tier like every ****ing day way more frequently than other races and I started to get racist.

I’ve also lived through periods where all the black people I interacted with were way cooler than the white people I knew and during those times I became less racist.

It’s the every ****ing day thing that wears you out.

Outside of workworld in Portland I lived in an all black area (MLK and Killingsworth) and every time I went outside it was some kind of hassle. In NYC I lived in Flatbush when it was almost all black back then. The black people in Flatbush were cool as ****. Never got hassled. Go figure. I will say Portland is racist af or at least was back then. The white liberals would wag their snooty fingers at my southern accent but they wouldnt dare step foot in a black neighborhood.
