I would not suggest drinking to get off smoking. Seems like it would have absolutely the opposite effect.

I feel you. Every two days I generally wake up with the intention of not buying booze that day, or at least thinking that I might not buy booze, but then I go to work and even before the day starts sucking I just totally lose that mindset and devolve to planning to buy booze after work. Like, it's not even a struggle, just an unconscious change in mindset.

Yeah I think that's one thing a lot of people don't get. It's not that you lose a struggle. It's that every day you convince yourself there is no struggle.

TBH though I'm not looking to stop drinking, I'm just looking to keep it manageable. Maybe that's a fool's errand, but I just like drinking and am not looking to become sober.

I don't think that that would be a very effective route tbh.

Probably not, but it's at least less of a dirty-feeling habit I suppose if it can be made to work. I definitely prefer to not drink when I'm stoned though, since booze destroys the chill feeling of being high, even if both combined get you highly ****ed up. I'd probably just become a stoner drunk though.

Most likely. Not only are they very different in how they fit into your habits/affect you, but you'll probably just grow to love mixing them (that's what happened to me at least although I never tried to quit).
