I think what OH is trying to say is that dual citizenship cannot be retained forever. At 20, you have to choose one or the other. But you can choose the Japanese one if you want.

I had the very good fortune to be there when the economy was booming and “studying” with an American was really trendy. It was a right place right time situation.

Mord managed to dig in his heels deeper and has gotten more milk from the cow.

Imo, Japan is an awesome place and I’m glad they cycle out their foreign population. Tokyo looks like Japan. Not the same ol same ol multicultural soup you find in NYC, Paris, London, Vancouver and so on. I respect their racism and xenophobia. Without it there wouldn’t be any reason to go there.
