i'm convinced you didn't play 4 or 5 cause they two incredibly engrossing storylines. i think SR has obviously distanced itself from GTA since 2 though, they're not trying to be competition. they're trying to be an entirely different game. and that's why 3 & 4 are the best for me.

I have not played 5 cause I really have not given the slightest **** after the disappointment of 4, but 4 was a game that left all the fun of San Andreas behind to try to be a cheap Sopranos knockoff that left all the amazing, tongue-in-cheek open world **** in the toilet in the failed idea that it was a game with a story line that would be interesting past the first time you played it. It felt like a game for people who cared about reviewing the game rather than playing it. SR2 and beyond took the actual fun gameplay elements from GTA and actually did what the **** I wanted.
