I find descents into madness brought on by poisonous Holywood culture to be pretty interesting, personally.

I probably like the idea of Inland Empire better than I like the specific way it's put together.

Maps to the Stars has similar themes in some way, sort of and I liked that one, even if it wasn't the best Cronenberg movie. I'm just way more of a Cronenberg fanboi, really.

You'd probably enjoy its structure more if you watched more than a third of it.

Also when it comes to watching Lynch, the first 1-3 views are for just taking it in, then you can start trying to make sense of it on further viewings. And yes, all of his films make sense on some level--don't just dismiss his uncompromising style as the emperor's new clothes.

but even if you turned off your brain completely and didn't try to derive meaning the film is entertaining, great score and imagery
And how 'bout Debbie Harry getting a needle through the nipple? Made me cringe the first time I watched it.

I'm glad you got a kick out of it, though. My mission in life is now complete.

Hey at least I gave it a second chance. Just a shame that I didn't really make it further than the first time. At least when I gave Mulholland Drive another view recently, I actually liked it (used not to).

My brother has also been praising Twin Peaks season 3 recently, but I don't know if I really want to give that a try. I'd probably have to rewatch (and actually finish) the old series to really get 100% out of it.

You would absolutely not be able to make it through the whole third season.

Not even trying to be facetious, it's just not for you.

I did make it through the first seasons and mostly liked it. Could have cut back on the number of plots and characters and the soap opera elements, but I liked it at the time. Season 2 somehow left me cold.

You didn't even give it one chance from what I hear.

Season 3 is Lynch on crack.

We're talking constant super extended scenes of absolute silence, **** that pops up for five seconds before disappearing without explanation, extensive plot lines revolving around characters are never even introduced. The whole works.
