that's not really the point
Separate is inherently unequal. Lyrics are poetry in the same way that ****ty limericks are. You are gatekeeping by trying to exclude lyrics from the conversation.

I'm trying to prevent lyrics from being unfairly critiqued by being evaluated outside the context in which they're written for

PS: VU lyrics are GOLD

Makes sense for VU, doesn't make sense for something like Billy Woods where the lyrics are the focal point of the music.

Try to moralize it all you want, but you're gatekeeping.

I always thought you were a big Sister Ray fan. So you just like the lyrics?

I like that the prose is eloquent but not excessive

it presents a stark image in bold language, and in doing so highlights the unfathomable significance of the mundane

I'm also just partial to free verse poetry
This is the sorta thing that I have to be explained to why it's good and I still don't quite get it. Reminds me of when I went to the art gallery with the ex. A lot of this **** is lost on me. The poem was describing a flower right?

Isn't it a comparison of some special faces standing out among a crowd with petals?
