I was there once for a conference. I stayed at some casino/hotel and figured I'd try my hand at gambling for the first time ever. I dropped $30 on a blackjack table and after it was gone I went to my room and went to bed and that was the last time I gambled. Kinda anti-climactic I know, but people want to know these things... the important things.

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

kind of surprising that Pittsburgh has that many buildings downtown but only around 300k population....

Omaha has a decent-looking park, but to judge from your photos, I like the look of Pittsburgh better. Nothing improves a city like a stretch of open water, and Pittsbugh has a pair of rivers it seems. Nice.

Yeah I agree that park must be nice downtown^ and them rivers downtown Pittsburgh has more bridges than I thought

I've been poring over maps of election results today, and naturally this triggered my obsession with geography and exploring places on google street view. So I've been exploring America, going wherever my fancy takes me, and in the end I alighted on:
Sandgap, Kentucky
This is a tiny place in Jackson County, apparently in a pretty godforsaken part of Kentucky. The place looks rough indeed, although it does have an elementary school and a church which also functions as a youth centre. But whatever, this whole post is just an excuse to gush over what really caught my attention, which is this house:

It's known as the Abel Gabbard house. Just look at it. I have a soft spot for picturesque, delapidated houses, so now I feel an urge to move to some miserable place in Kentucky just to make this one habitable. It's what I imagine the villa of Pippi Longstocking looks like (at least there are plenty of porches for a horse to live on). And somehow the trees and the house harmonise perfectly. Fun fact: the house is actually older than the village itself: it was built in 1890. Anyway, back to you, Mindfullness

Street view is really nice, I use Google Earth a lot to check out places and then go into street view on there. Kentucky is a place I don't know much about. I guess I don't post enough smaller towns in America and just focus on small cities. I can search for smaller towns for the future though.
