Watched this a few days ago. It's basically a noir detective film set in present-day, where the throw back is with the dialogue and situationals, but taking place with school teens.
Stars Gordon-Levitt.

I personally found the movie just "OK". The novelty of the noir aspect wore off quickly, and the story just drug on. It was nicely complex, but there was no real catharsis for me when it was all said and done. It didn't feel all that rewarding by the end of it.
The acting was great, but it wasn't a pillar the movie could stand on by itself.

It was good for a one-time watch. Probably wouldn't watch again.

just awaiting "Prometheus", really

not really hyped about the new Batman (didn't like the previous two much)

or Spiderman (The Lizard is one of my least favourite villains, they should have gone with The Vulture, the Enforcers, The Chameleon or Mysterio)

how can you not like The Dark Knight. Best comic book movie of all-time.. No contest.

It's fine that you didn't like it, but how in the world was it like Heat?

This film was like a nice big bowl of oatmeal. Is it bad? Not really. Is it exciting and fun to consume? Hell ****ing no. I was so bored with this one. I really think Tim Burton has stopped trying. The screenplay was written by somebody else and that person should not write screenplays. It was blander than bland. It was like, well, like oatmeal, plain and boring. Burton and Depp need some time off from each other.

cat and mouse game between Bats and the Joker felt a lot like Pacino/De Niro

Haha I can see it. Both have some pretty gnarly masked bank robbery scenes.

I think a more obvious remake of heat was the town

Influenced by, even Nolan admitted he based Gotham City off of the movie. But I have not seen Heat to say wether I agree the influence goes beyond just that and the "cat and mouse" and aspect... which is not really something that movie is responsible for starting.

a lot of the elements were quite similar, the recruitment, the interrogation scene, the final showdown
