I agree, but I see that as a positive statement about Sorcese because I found Shutter Island to be pretty enjoyable, if quite flawed.

No that's New York, New York!

It does a good job of describing the genesis of the series and also includes a massive reference and plot point to the original movie which nobody at work today got despite watching the original but there was so many things wrong too.

We have a 10 year time span in the movie yet everyone looks the same, Brian Cox is phoning his performance in and the last 20 minutes is just too much CGI for me however well it's done.

The plot of the film is in the title really isn't it? and I wasn't surprised enough in the film or given a mind blowing plot twist to make me rethink the whole series.

Maybe I am just a cynical old ****er these days but I was expecting a whole lot more.

I think most people were just surprised at how good it was. I don't think i would have liked it as much if i had gone in with loftier expectations.

What film are you referring to?

Oh it was certainly better than it should have been, after all the original film was based on an early 60's novel that certainly had no prequel written but I just found the film too predictable at times unfortunately.

Just saw The Dark Knight Rises. It was really good, but not as good as The Dark Knight. It just didn't have that darkness to it. It was still great though, so great that it kind of made me want to shoot a bunch of people.

Hahahaha I lol'd. But yeah, the movie was great even if it's not as good as The Dark Knight.

Spoiler for spoiler?:
I concur. A big aspect was how lame the villain was in comparison to The Joker.

Not a spoiler. Honestly, it's hard to surpass the brilliance of The Joker, especially with Ledger's performance. There was a perfect blend of insanity, ferocity, and even humour in The Dark Knight's Joker, while Bane was a pretty damn good villain, but was almost shite by comparison.
