a really interesting and well edited documentary about this amazing genre bending band from Bristol....great interviews with all the members....which include the horrible drug problems of the Bristol squats to Rob amazing sword making....a couple of great live performances and a touching interview with Scott and Steve from Neurosis about how much of an influence Amebix were to them.....seriously a great piece if your interested in the history of punk rock

The dark knight rises. All that needs to be said was I shed a tear. Amazing film although I thought it a bit on the long side.

I wasn't expecting all that much from this as I only went for it after watching the trailer and not reading up on it but this was surprisingly good and the special effects were fantastic for a film that cost $12 million. The performances were excellent and the 'found footage' aspect was a lot more refreshing than the recent glut of similar movies. Well worth a watch.

I thought this was pretty good too. I actually found myself wishing it was longer.

Easily one of the best films I've seen this year. It was heavy as hell. Peter Mullan and Olivia Colman gave career performances in this one. I mean, there just isn't a lot of happiness in this movie but I somehow feel energized after seeing it. Makes you really appreciate the life you have after watching two crumble in front of your eyes. My girlfriend was sleeping and said that she woke up towards the end and I was sitting on the end of the bed transfixed to the screen. It was that enveloping. It's on Netflix Instant so check it out.

Oh and Paddy Considine directed it. You might know him as...

(on the right)

I took this for what it was. A Seth Macfarlane movie about a talking teddy bear. I laughed a lot and was bored wit the rest but overall it was a funny movie that I wouldn't mind watching maybe one more time.

One of the better comedies of all time. The play is one of the funniest things I've ever seen. Hip Hitler was amazing baby.

I have heard a lot of good things about Tyrannosaur and it's on my rental list at Blockbuster.

I hated this when it came out in the mid 90's but watched it tonight for the first time since then and really enjoyed it. The dodgy CGI in the film actually works in it's favour now and gives the film a real retro feel but maybe that was the point of it in the first place. It looks like an 80's film now and the climax is really well done and in keeping with the usual nihilistic John Carpenter film endings.

Time for reappraisal and yes I'm looking at Janszoon and Bob for that!
