The movie is divided into two sections. This is a feature of many of tarantino's movies. This explains the "main villain" (a term that I'm sure Tarantino would hate) being introduced so late. I would also argue that he seemed very evil, but that doesn't matter. I adored all the characters.

I thought the dialogue was superb, and that's another common theme in tarantino flicks. How you thought it was bland I'll never know. He writes for the conversation, not the plot, and it makes the characters much more natural, and attributable.

These things seem to cover what you complained about, and they all seem to be involved with tarantino's style. This is the style that he used to become the renowned director he is today. I guess if you don't like that, you probably won't/dont like his others.

Please note: I'm not pulling a ghost jam. I respect your opinion and am just rebutting it with my own.

I thought the pacing was fine, it was paced kind of like an epic film (which it basically is given its length). Reminded me a lot of The Good The Bad and The Ugly. I would honestly love to see the three hour and twelve minute cut.

My girlfriend and I watched The Innkeepers last night.

It was a little goofy at the start, but it got really suspenseful and creepy as it got towards the end. It's one of those movies where you have to remember certain details that are brought up in order to follow the story clearly. The acting was pretty damn good and their wasn't a whole lot of things that were scary, just a lot of suspense and "what is going to happen" moments.

It's been in my Netflix cue for ages and I know Exoskeleton has recommended it on multiple occasions. I may have to finally break down and watch it this weekend.

Got a movie channel free preview this past weekend, so I watched "The Hunger Games". It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.

Also watched "Super 8"... the beginning was ok, but it turned into a corny Sandlot wannabe.

...and I watched "Bottleshock". I actually liked this movie more than those ^^ two.

It had a Malick way of narration and overall landscape but it was really a very unique film that is carried by it's own weight. Did you watch it yet?
