Well I guess it's a true story about a Mom who poisoned her husband, mother, and daughter for insurance money. I am half way through it right now.
It stars Judith Light who is a very strange actress but I enjoy her anyway in other films.
I can't believe she poisoned her daughter on prom night, wtf?!:

The Man in the White Suit (1951)

Taped this black comedy off some cable station. Alec Guinness as a mill factory scientist who invents a fabric that is indestructible and cannot get dirty. Nice satire with some issues that are still relevant today.

Eyes Wide Shut

Finally got around to watching Kubrick's last film, and it absolutely met and exceeded my expectations. The cinematography, as with all Kubrick films from Dr. Strangelove onwards, was exceptional. This time, however, he didn't focus so much on symmetry and one-point perspectives as before. Instead, it was more about the lighting, colour, and camera movements. The masquerade scene in particular, was phenomenal, and one of the best sequences of Kubrick's filmography. It's frightening too, just as much as any scene in The Shining. My only complaint about this film is Nicole Kidman's performance, which I found to be a bit overacted, especially compared to Cruise's. I find that the line delivery in Kubrick's last 3 films is often too slow and deliberate to be believable. Still, I think this film lives up to the Kubrick name and ranks among his classics. 9/10

Intriguing if a little unsatisfying. A very good debut from the 25 year old director with the film falling more into arthouse than Horror although the dream sequences despite being gruesome are beautifully shot and he is a talent to look out for but I much prefer Lucky Mckee's May regarding a young womans difficulty adjust to the norms of society and I didn't feel enough empathy for the main character even though the cast is superb and who would have thought ex porn star Traci Lords would be such a damn good actress?

I hated everything about this film when I watched it a couple of nights ago but what is really annoying is that I keep thinking about it and that means that I probably want to give it a second viewing with a different mindset. It does put you off fried chicken though!

Yet another Kevin James film I have watched in the space of a week. Predictable plot line but you know what? I still enjoyed it and Henry Winkler (The Fonz) was so good in this film. It's like watching 80's feel good movies all over again.

I wasn't a huge fan of the film either but man can Matthew McConaughey act now. He's becoming a fantastic actor. I'm seeing an oscar performance in the next couple years. Oh, and eat that chicken Gina Gershon.

The Purge (2013)

Goddamn was this ever a piss poor movie with such a wasted premise. Basically it's the near future and America has been reborn as it were with a new government faction called "The New Founding Fathers" wants to keep crime and unemployment low by making all crime legal for a 12 hour period. Now this setup offers up a plethora of questions the film could answer like if scientists use this time to do experiments they otherwise could have done, do hackers or black marketers do their work during this time, wouldn't this be a perfect moment for a country to attack the US, etc. Instead we get The Strangers and Straw Dogs human centipeded together with an incredibly heavy handed message that is quite literally stated directly to the camera.

I really hate when good ideas get wasted.
