I saw The Place Beyond The Pines the other day, thought it was pretty damn good. The first act was the best imo, but it really all came together during the time skip in the 3rd act. Definitely a good flick, good performances all around.

Burial Ground (The Nights of Terror) - Professor unleashes an army of Zombies ("But...I'm your friend!" CHOMP!!!), Zombies attack a group of visitors to a house nearby on a wild weekend, no more needs to be said. For the record, I like my films to have a good story with the rare exception of these brain rots.

Oh yeah, it must be mentioned that it's from 1980 and no CGI was used, just lots of ugly goop, maybe some spaghetti sauce with meat, lots of creepy crawlies, and fake skin.

It actually played the Detroit area in 1985, but was best known for a while through it's VHS release.

actually that is Raymond Massey....who's character Jonathon has had reconstructive surgery that went a bit wrong and made him look like Boris Karloff

sorry this is one of my all time favorite plays into movies....glad you liked it...one of the greatest comedies ever.

Apollo 18 (2011)

Found footage in SPAAAAAAAAACE!

Seriously though I have no idea why I watched this movie, most found footage movies suck and the Netflix and IMDB review scores for this movie all said it was terrible. Occasionally something interesting like [REC or Paranormal Activity come along and make that subgenre work, but for the most part it's just a way for a director to cover up a lack of talent, money, or both. I'll admit though in this case the movie doesn't look that cheap and there are a few okay jump scares, but unless you have some debilitating mental condition and can't rest until you've seen every found footage movie, there's no reason to watch this.

It's funny. I just reviewed this movie and pretty much had the same reaction.

his was f*cking horrible. I like to keep my reviews PG-13 but every once in a while, like a movie now an then, I’ll slip a “f*ck” in there. Hey, I just did it twice. I think I broke the PG-13 mold. I had to do it though. This movie was that bad. The scares were cheap, what few there were. The acting was atrocious. The aliens were horribly stupid. I don’t even consider that a spoiler. This movie was so unoriginal what else did you expect besides horrible aliens. It as 90 minutes that felt like three hours.

Never watch this movie. I don’t really have much else to say. I’d be wasting more of my time.

yeah that movie blew moon rocks. I can't stand when the caption is just so fucking forward.

I watched Coraline and then watched maybe half with the commentary because i needed something on while i was eating or my crunching would bother me.

Well that was much better than the plot suggested. Very decent direction with believable scenarios and action sequences where people are actually hurt when they fall through roofs etc

I really expected this to suck especially disliking most romantic films and loving the Zombie genre but this really worked. The few action set pieces worked really well and the films romantic angle never slipped into sickly gushing crap or quirky for quirky sake either. Very subtle and well played by all. A perfect date movie I guess.

A slightly preposterous storyline is saved by some good old action that is not watered down for the mass market. An old school action film whereby people actually bleed, hurt and swear! A drop or two of decent one liners may have helped a bit though!

First off. I don't do Family Guy. I don't dislike it but I am not a big fan of animated comedy so I watched this with no comparison to Family Guy. This is probably a one time only movie. There were some really funny lines and Ted looks simply amazing but take away an uncouth, foul mouthed talking teddy bear and you are left with a very slight romantic film that doesn't really hit the mark. The Flash Gordon homages are great though but yes we get it Mr Mcfarlane Flash Gordon is obviously your favourite film!

So I finally came around to watching Oblivion this weekend. And to be honest, I was pleasantly surprised! I thought it would be a dull, unoriginal pseudo SF (a lot of fiction, close to no science), with a predictable plot twist and weird acting. What I got was somewhat similar, as in it was pseudo sf , I predicted the plot twist 5 or so minutes into the movie, yet ... yet it was fun. Often very beautiful,
I enjoyed the movie even though I had to pause several times to rant why this or that was idiotic
But then again I enjoyed Prometheus So there.
