I never thought the wife was too hot, except in that "Middle class white lady" kind of boring way, but when she came back and was all evil-android-woman, I was all about her. I totally get why Ben Affleck decided to stay, and it wasn't just about her (possibly) being pregnant. Obviously he hates her, but I think his underachieving nature is drawn to her. No matter how crazy or evil she might be, she's damn impressive. I think that scene in the shower was hands down had one of the most interesting dynamics I've ever seen in a movie. Just... damn. Just so ****ing cool. Would marry... and keep a gun hidden in each room of the house... with a video tape accusing my wife of murdering me that would go out in the event of my death... and another video of her doing that thing with the wine bottle.
Same, for all of this. It felt like my brain was melting the entire time. It was the single most intense emotional experience I've ever had while watching a movie, and I don't even know what to call the emotion that I had. The only negative thing I could say about it is that I'm sad that I'll never get that "first watch" back again. 11/10.

Everything else I saw by Noe was trying to be offensive so hard, that it was just boring and ridiculous.

I think my fav scene might have been near the end of the first third, when...

... the cops finally start putting pressure on Ben Affleck, right after the wife's "friend" drops the pregnancy bombshell. Up until then, the police had been very laid back, almost friendly at times, I guess to keep him relaxed. Then on a dime they switch gears and just throw him completely off balance. The movie had been very slow-burning up till that point, and then all of a sudden it was so intense I started trembling. It really showed just how mediocre shows like CSI are with their interrogation scenes that try too hard to be intense and just end up feeling cliched.

It wasn't as obviously a standout scene as the shower scene or when the wife kills Neil Patrick Harris, but it was the scene that made me go from highly interested to totally sucked in.

No. Not in a good way at all. Two of the sickest scenes in film history.

I think what did that for me was when I realized that everything in the wife's flashbacks was a lie, and that all of the scenes we had actually seen were completely false. It made me lose my mind a little bit, and I felt like I didn't know who or what to trust- which is brilliant, because that's exactly how everyone in the movie was feeling, too. It made me feel like I was actually inside of the movie, rather than just watching it.

Aside from the camera work and acting there isn't anything redeemable about that film. Enter the Void is a much better attempt at pushing the envelope without ruining the film.

I think I've heard about those.
I don't mind sick, but I don't like to feel being manipulated into being offended (which I never am anyway).

Enter The Void is masterful at times, but still ruined by attempts to be edgy and by dumbing the philosophical/spiritual themes down so much, it's basically shoved down your throat with some ketchup.

I like that up until then, I'd been trying so hard to figure out Affleck's character, and then I realized that it had been so hard because there wasn't a whole lot to know. He was a pretty shallow, nondescript guy who it was it to project your own interpretation onto. It was like I was being told to quit being such an ******* and try to pass judgement on a guy I didn't know.

Personally i loved Irreversible ....i mean it's not a film i watch often...really only to show people who are interested in this type of art....and that's the thing...if you do not understand or at all like the concepts behind Transgressive artwork....you simply will not like something like this

i love the beginning of this film...i love the fact that it really only makes sense if you have seen I Stand Alone....i love just how insane and disturbing that scene in the club is....and i love his use of the camera to force the audience into the complete delirium of the characters
