Frequencies: a lot of this movie is naive meaninglessness BS being served to us as depth, but it was structurally interesting.

The Wolf of Wall Street

Great film, hilarious and not lacking in depth. It would've been cooler if Scorsese hadn't taken an approach so similar to Goodfellas, but I still loved it. The part with Venice had me in ****ing stitches.

I like the fact it's so similar to Goodfellas in a way, because it makes the audience draw a comparison. Adds a lot to the films meaning I think.

Hm, hadn't considered that. I thought Scorsese was just being lazy.

I still haven't seen the wolf of wallstreet, but goodfellas is one of my fave crime films.
