"The Cell" by Tarsem Singh.

"The Fall" may be his masterpiece but this one is just as visually groundbreaking. Plus the story is pretty damn creepy and has actually held up well even though it's a wee bit of a Silence of the Lambs rip.

Also cool seeing Lopez, D'Onofrio, and Vaughn kinda early in their careers.

Truly blown away by The Revenant. I don't know if I've been so 'locked-in' to a flim before - couldn't look away once.

This doesn't really belong here, or anywhere else, but I'm putting it here.
Over the last few nights I've been listening to:

The Hobbit read by Nicol Williamson

Fantastic. Puts the movies to shame.

Glengarry Glen Ross. Such a classic. Toss a handful of A-list actors into a closed environment and just have them act the **** out of every line.

Alec Baldwin's finest moment.

I absolutely love this movie. Great dialogue and acting from all involved. It bombed in theaters, because I guess it didn't have enough explosions, and the characters portrayed weren't exactly likeable or relateable to a standard audience -- it was just a movie about a bunch of business guys. The limited release also did it no favors.

Goddamn. I knew 12 Monkeys (which I'm a huge fan of) was based off of this going into it but this is really something else.
