I don't agree with any of them being masterpieces. I think the common thread with them was that they all had the ingredients of greatest but turned out merely ok.

Agree on The Master and There Will be Blood. But NCFOM is a masterpiece for me.

Seriously? They're easily among the greatest film of the 2000's, maybe even among the best of all time as far as I'm concerned.

I love the Coens but No Country for Old Men is actually one of my least favorite movies of theirs. And The Master and There Will Be Blood both had great concepts, great cinematography and great performances but somehow just didn't add up to much for me. I prefer Punch Drunk Love to both.
