I think Rob Zombie accurately perceived where the franchise had to go. Before his Halloweens, we had 6 movies that did nothing to innovate or add something new (sorry, but the whole Thorn thing was just stupid). I still haven't seen Halloween 8 because I refuse to let it taint what I thought of as an excellent way to send off the Laurie Strode character in H20. Where the original series kept up the mystery of Michael Myers (faceless killing machine with nothing to relate to whatsoever), Rob Zombie turned it into a psych evaluation of the character. We know A LOT of what's going on behind the mask. I thought it added something to the story.

That and I freakin love Malcolm McDowell and I thought he was the perfect person to replace Donald Pleasence.

Yeah you're not missing out on Halloween Resurrection. I'm sure you've heard about the first ten minutes and the rest of it is just dull for the most part. It's a totally generic artifact of early 00s mainstream horror movies.

Whose brilliant idea was it to have some bored guy play Freddy Krueger in the Nightmare on Elm Street remake? Of course I knew something was up when I saw Michael Bay in the credits.

The movie is crap, but I actually like the actor. After watching the Watchmen movie, I could only imagine his voice when I re-read the graphic novel. He IS Rorschach.

The actor was great it was their stupid choice to make him more serious and menacing that made it boring.

The Congress

I really loved this. It puts a nice dystopian twist on the reflexive film and I rate it with movies like The Player and Adaptation (although it's not quite as brilliant as Adaptation) for that reason. I can't really go into detail without ruining it, but what I can say is that the first act is a little rocky, then it leads into some really fascinating visual and conceptual ideas.

Go into it blind, oh and the soundtrack is amazing.
