Damn, that's a good rip. First time I saw Tetsuo was in 360p, immediately after waking up one morning, right before a shift in a retail store. Nothing gets you ready for the 9-5 like an hour of clanking metal, white noise, static, and legendary Japanese cyberpunk body horror.

The Gift

As psychological thrillers go it's a 9/10. Jebus, talk about a character arc. Jason Batemen's best work to date. He was seriously great in this.

Spoiler for Spoiler:
Even though you end up kinda hating his guts by the end.

I re-watched this recently as well. I loved it. Yes, it fell into some of the typical tropes of a thriller but the reveal is so worth it.

NNever understood why the baby feeding scene in Eraserhead is unanimously hailed as one of the most disturbing things ever
Spoiler for spoil:
the scene where he cuts it open is way more chilling and gnarly

Spoiler for .:
I think that might be because the feeding scene is earlier in the movie and as a result is a more of a shock. At the point where he cuts it open you're already full swing into the disturbing weirdness.

I'll check that dictionary, but in the meantime I'm impressed - as is everyone else in the world - by your eloquence, obvious accomplishments and success, and the evidence of your blazingly high intelligence.
