That scene is pretty much the first thing that happens after he's been locked up. There's a lot of other nasty scenes in the movie, plus a few scenes that were downright strange. Not least the scene where the protagonist goes nuts and bites a guy's tongue off.

Over the past couple of weeks.

Beauty & The Beast - boring, fell asleep.

Jurassic Park - better than I remember when I was about 7.

City of God - wow.

There's next to no historical background, meaning you'll be confused if you don't already know the story of the evacuation.
Kenneth Branagh has seen better days.

That said, this is a movie that needs to be seen in theatre. You know the old cliché about non-stop action? It's true to the letter for Dunkirk. There is no time to breathe. You are there—on the beaches, on the landing grounds and in the streets, on sea, land and air.

But that was a pretty great aspect of the movie afaic since it really made each soldier feel like one in a sea of faceless cogs where it didn't matter which one was which.

Trying to figure out when the plane and boat scenes were going on was kinda sketchy though, but it never bothered me.
Cool, I'll get it. What do I need to know about the evacuation PS?

It's in theaters atm. And shouldn't a Brit know more about Dunkirk than me? All you really need to know is that at the start of the war, when Germany thoroughly shat on the French, the British were likewise shat on and surrounded in the city of Dunkirk. The actual history of the battle really isn't all that important to the movie.

$10 says he's talking about the remake.

I know bits, just wondered if there was anything in particular I need to be aware of, or if I need to be an expert or whatever.

btw I meant the new B&TB, with Emma Watson in it.

Man like Frown is correct.
