About Tim Burton: The last time I really, really liked one of his movies must have been way back with Corpse Bride in 2005.

Another movie that I bought today along with Frankenweenie was Burton's 2014 movie, Big Eyes. I'm hoping that one deserves it's "best Burton movie in years" reputation... At the very least, I know that I love the two lead actors (Amy Adams and Christoph Waltz).
I'd go as far to say that Shannon is the greatest actor of our time. Even ahead of people like Day-Lewis and Fassbender.

Take Shelter is good but would mediocre without Shannon's performance. Still worth a watch, just a heads up so you don't get burned by high expectations.

I've yet to see that one. Bug was the performance that really shook my world. I didn't know that acting could be like that.

dude seriously!? watch it. i don't want to overhype it or anything but i went into it blind and it ended up being one of my favourite films of last year. my boner for Jake Gyllenhaal aside, the rest of the cast ****ing killed it too.

oh damn he was in Mud too, forgot about that. he's still not Daniel Day-Lewis but yeah he's got some solid work under his belt for sure.

I'm a massive Tom Ford fan so it's on the list.

I put him ahead of Day-Lewis because Shannon has so much realism to his performances while DDL is more of a character actor. I suppose it comes down to preference.

Lot's of movies that I love are kind of flawed. I just hope that it is at the very least interesting in some way.

Oh and I love Fassbender. Especially for his lead roles in Shame and Frank respectively.

He's great. A top 10 actor/actress of our time for sure, if anyone asks me.

oh yeah, that's totally fair. i think a lot of the time it's easy to forget how good an actor who strives for realism is because if they're doing it well enough it feels like they aren't even acting. whereas someone like DDL is so eccentric and larger than life in his roles that it's very easy to see how great he is at it.

he's easily my favourite actor. i have the utmost respect for him for his film choices, it's actually hard to name bad films he's been in.

he's done some okay films like southpaw and everest but in terms of good films i can't think of many actors with a better track record post 2000.

- Enemy
- Prisonners
- Nocturnal Animals
- Nightcrawler
- Brokeback Mountain
- Zodiac
- Source Code
- End of Watch
- Demolition
- Jarhead
- Donnie Darko

and i'm sure i'm missing some

he's just the real ****in' deal man
