The Lee Household:

After a long day at work, Lee decides to catch a movie. He orders a bucket of popcorn big enough to carry a small child and settles in. He knows Lee doesn't like it when he indulges...but he deserves this!

After watching his film and finishing off the last few delectable kernels, Lee skulks home. He walks in the door, and there stands Lee with his arms crossed. "I can smell it on you from here! How could you! You're sleeping on the couch tonight."

Ahhh...I hate to see couple's fight.

Seen three horribly redundant steamers in the last 24 hours.

i just watched most of Coogan's Bluff on TV, the writer must have been a real piece of work, what a crock of sh*t. I swear Clint Eastwood made a profession wearing the same 'barely-suppressed-rage' expression for 40 years; and Coogan was like a sexist, lame cowboy prototype for Dirty Harry. I hate life.

Also Predator 2: 80's ultra-violence CAN be enjoyably macabre, but everything about this is just poor, even Gary Busey and Bill Paxman. I haven't checked but I'm guessing it was a case of the original director wanting nothing to do with it and the studio making a buck with the property. Still, I hope they do a third one. Guess it would have to be in the desert this time. Or underwater...

Kindergarten Cop too, which was at least a laugh and a trip back to simpler times. I love the way in all the Arnie movie expositions they go to lengths to point out his character is from Austria but never explain how the hell he ended up being a cop in NY/LA. Exchange program? All in all a crappy evenings viewing which, to quote the governator, made me go 'gyaaaaaaaahhhhh'. Too far?

edit: while we're on crap films that ought to be getting made, I am gunning for a new Judge Dredd film. Or just more 2000 AD film franchises in general. Come on Hollywood, disappoint us!

edit to the edit: 'In December 2008, a new Judge Dredd film was given the green light. It will be produced by 2000AD, Rebellion and DNA Films with shooting beginning in 2009.'
Now I can sleep nights

I have to confess I sort of like that movie. I can completely see why someone would hate it but for me there's just something appealing about it. Probably has a lot to do with the fact that I first saw it when it was new and I was about 13. One thing I will say though is that Bill Paxton was so unbelievably awful in it that I was happy when he got killed.

yeah it was bearable enough for me to sit through it (again), and I have fond memories of the first film and that era of blockbuster action in general... even just seeing all the pre-CG effects and noting the crummiest bits of dialogue is quite diverting. And you're right about Bill Paxton (not Paxman as I said haha), i don't know what happened to his career he was in all these films playing a surfer dude-type then he kind of drops off my radar before reappearing in 'Frailty' and the excellent 'A Simple Plan'. I wonder how he makes a living...

also re: Gary Busey, there is hours of funs to be had watching clips of 'I'm With Busey' on the choob, hilarious show. Apparently it was mostly scripted? Pah!

Who would've though a documentary about a typeface could be so interesting. 8/10

I would have. But I'm a graphic designer. I loved that movie and it's cool to see that it appeals to people outside of the industry.
