People call this a love it or hate it movie, well I didn't love it but I didn't hate it either. It's a very ambitious film, it's extremely well made, great score and cinematography. Pitt is really good in the lead. But you never really get inside the characters head, and even at 2 and a half hours, it goes through everything so fast, it's hard to have an emotional investment in anything, Blanchett is an undeniably great actress but I felt the chemistry between her and Pitt just wasn't what it should have been. Watched it because Jackhammer said it was good and i agree, ain't no Pulp Fiction though. All the characters are adorable in their own way which keeps the stories away from being bland. Joe Strummer is a sexy bastard in it too.

I love that movie. Have you ever seen Night On Earth? It's another movie by Jarmusch that you'd probably like if you liked Mystery Train because it's set up similarly in the sense that it tells five different stories. In the case of Night On Earth? they don't interconnect though, but they do share the theme of all taking place inside of taxis in various cities in the US and Europe. It's one of my favorite movies and definitely worth your while if you've never seen it.

The usual outstanding turn from Toby Kebbell aside (Dead Man's Shoes) this was a complete let down. Just give it in now Guy FFS.

this was the first time I say the original version of this and it was a million times better than the Billy Bod Thorton version. Overall, I was really surprised at how good it was.

a good movie involving the story of a british infested india and the racism and mistreatment that the indians recieve from the colonial britains. Overall, very good movie.

I seem to love this movie even more ever time I see it. Steve Coorgan does a great job as Tony Wilson. The whole Madchester scene was amazing Happy Mondays, New Order, 808 State, Stone Roses, The Smiths a truly incredible time in music and I think the film depicts it well. Also the opening scene is one of my favorite in any movie and when the 4th wall is broken it brings alot of intimacy between the audience and Tony.

I have to see this movie again. I've seen it once and loved it and the Tony Wilson scenes are my favorites.

I recommend this movie to anyone who likes old foreign films. Even though it's not an action movie or a thriller, it kept me interested the whole time. Good, good movie.

Are "old foreign films" a genre now? Does the fact that they're "old" and "foreign" guarantee a certain quality? Are there any people out there who'd actually say they like "old foreign films"? Are action movies and thrillers the only genres of film that keep people interested throughout the film? Are you usually into commie propaganda? Are you a commie, a dirt red?
