Yeah I'd seen it about 6 months ago, and then I watched it again. I cried haha. I don't usually cry at films.
Also I realised Clint Eastwood is the spitting image of my Papa. :|

Nice double feature on Fox Classics last night

Passable, 'specially for a Lynch film

As good as anything chucked out today. Still get the chills watching some scenes.

Psycho is such a trashy, cheesy exploitation film. Don't understand its status at all.

It was weird watching it for the first time given its status, I was expecting some arthouse film that was boring as hell most of the time.

The interesting thing though is that you look at a lot of old Hitch**** films, like Vertigo and Psycho and they weren't exactly well recieved in the day. Vertigo split a lot of opinions. Nowadays though, its considered one of the greatest films of all time. You sorta wonder if its about harking back on a loved director and seeing their work in a better light than its initial release. Obviously its a good movie though, just interesting comparison.

hmmm, i was under the impression that North by Northwest and To Catch a Thief were always well-received. that's how they stood the test of time.

compare that to say, something like Sunset Boulevard and you can see which one has lost their edge over the years. then again Billy Wilder might have dated a bit since then.

Yeah, not all of his films, and there is always the 'ahead of his time' argument I guess.

The last film I saw was the Shining which, needless to say, is an awesome classic of the genre. No surprise I love it since Nicholson is my fav actor.

Might rewatch Being John Malkovich tonight.
