He looked ridiculous! I had to turn the movie off and watch The Big Bang Theory instead.

Miracle at St. Anna
This movie seems to have gotten kind of mixed reviews but I enjoyed it. It's not the best Spike Lee movie and I think it was a little longer than it needed to be, but it was a gripping, moving piece of cinema.

Finished this about half an hour ago. Lovely little story it was and all. The photography and cinematography throughout was pretty astounding too.

***1/2

Nicholson's best performance in a long time. This is a great movie, both funny and tragic, Alaxander Payne really knows how to create characters are that are both funny and someone that you geniunely feel sorry for, the movie is about a widowed, retired actuary who goes on a cross country road trip to stop his daughter from marrying a redneck waterbed salesmen, Kathy Bates is a scene steller as the mother of Schmidt's future son in law who has certain "needs".

The acting is good all around, Nicholson and Bates especially, but Hope Davis is also good as Schmidt's daugher, and Dermot Mulroney as his future son and law who tries his best to bond with Schmidt.

I love Payne's style of editing and cinematography, like Election the sight gags is where a lot of the humor comes from, the one scene that always gets me is the wedding scene when Schmidt is giving a speech and he's talking about one of his son in laws and how he's a "very thoughtful young man" and then you get a cutaway to the guy.

I won't spoil much for those that haven't seen it but if you enjoyed Election and Sideways then this one is definetely on par.

I am not an atheist but I still found it hilarious how serious people take religon.

I laughed my ass off when he fried the guy with the 2000 dollar suit and ****. Plus the part where he was talking to Muslims about killing infidels.
Plus the Rednecks that was going to whoop his ass
Plus The Holy Land or whatever theme park...

You know what I laughed through the whole movie :P

Precisely, it has an excellent thing going on with Danny and his poor collar, I think it could be so much better. I still enjoyed it alot, and Danny's a champ. He's so simple in the film it makes me so sad. I cried twice whilst watching it, don't tell anyone

Sounds cool but damn Netflix doesn't have it.
