Cloverfield was complete ****.

I Am legend was average.

Juno was really cute.

I also hired out 28 Days Later, Chucky and Planet Of The Apes.

I just watched Amélie for the first time in about five years - I'd forgotten how brilliant that movie is. Amélie Poulain is really quite a charming beautiful lady. The irony is that while she could help everyone else and feel content for the meantime, yet she couldn't help herself and wasn't truly happy. While she set up the schemer Joseph with Georgette, he effectively sets a trap for her. Amélie almost throws her chance at romance away, yet it is the sheltered Dufayel who sends her the recording which inspires her to go for Quincampoix, her true love (carpe diem!). Ironic because she had been sending him recordings showing him the world, because he would not seize the day and preferred to live a sheltered life.

A beautiful scene was the one where she thinks all is lost but imagines Quincampoix returning to her, and her hopes are elevated when she thinks he's coming through the doorway but it's only her cat. The film soundtrack is great (19 tracks recorded in 15 days) and the cinematography is stunning.

Eastern Promises - 8/10

Not what I was expecting, but Viggo is great and the whole naked knife fight is spectacular.
