Brilliant, almost poetic at times. Really interesting characters as well and the relationships between them.

Haven't been in this thread in a while, as I've been mostly watching series like Weeds, The Wire, Mad Men, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, etc. instead of movies. But the other night I watched Max Payne (unrated director's cut), and I actually enjoyed it quite a bit.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

Could be another favourite to add to the list but we'll see, it was very profound considering the year it was made. The ideas explored in it were relevant at the time, and even though now watching them ideas they were a bit moot but they gave you an insight into the characters mind set. Really great film.

If for some reason you decide you want to watch this too don't research it first! It ruins the movie!

ugh. it pains me to hear someone speak of a chaplin film as 'kind of cool in a quirky way'. let's just end this exchange...
