the last film i watched was the collector i think? it's basically just a horror in the same vein as saw. wasn't bad, better than i was expecting but i wouldn't write home about it.

tonight i'm gonna watch requiem for a dream (L) i haven't watched it in a long time and i feel like being depressed.

I tried to watch this one recently too but i had to turn it off. I was so bored. Maybe it picked up after that but it wasn't doing anything for me.

Yeah The Rock is one of the few Michael Bay movies I actually enjoy, mostly because of Sean Connery.

Anyhow I decided to watch this last night for some unknown reason:



John Carpender's In the Mouth of Madness which was pretty decent in all truth and honesty. Sam Neil played lead character John Trenton and I think made a pretty convincing effort, however he was hindered by female lead, Julie Carmen. The film definitely looks dated though as far as horror films go, but I won't hold that against the movie too much.

The plot seemed to be a little inconsistent, relying too heavily on those "it didn't really happen" or "and then he woke up" sequences to make it far too confusing to tell whether everything was just reality or fiction. I know that's the whole premise of the movie and it was fine for awhile but towards the end it seemed like those were just convenient excuses rather than plot devices.

The movie does a good job paying homage to the greatest horror author ever to live, H.P. Lovecraft, but I think they could have utilized his writing a little bit more. I've always wanted to see a higher production adaptation of his work and this is probably the closest it's ever come.

All in all I was quite surprised by the movie, it didn't really shake the foundation of what is reality the way other movies have, but it was still a noble effort none the less.

I saw it last night for the first time in like three years. It held up quite well. Very funny and kind of moving.

I also saw Mulholland Drive again, just as good.

i wasn't referring to the quality of titanic. more about the shadow it cast on his career for a while after it. for the next few movies he was in people were like "oh, that douche from titanic is cashing in on its success". most people have figured out he is good by now.
