It looks like a cheap 300 knock off by that cover doesn't it? Let me assure you that is anything but.

Tragically promoted as an action movie means that this superb movie will struggle to find the audience that it deserves, until word of mouth changes that and that starts here.

Channeling Jodorowsky (El Topo, Santa Sangre) via Herzog (especially Aguire, Wrath Of God) this is a movie that stays with you long after the credits roll.

A film with sparse dialogue, infrequent action or characterisation usually puts it into the arthouse category which ultimately means that you will love it or hate it but this is something else.

Some of the best cinematography I have seen on film for a long while, let alone a low budget film; subject matter that takes in Religion, Ego, mysticism, supernaturalism, family, violence, nature and performances of unbridled naturalism make this a film I immediately want to see again and again.

Gob smacking although definitely not to all tastes.

^I watched some previews for this film and it looked really good. It's a Danish film, right? And I didn't know that's the director of Bronson, also. Now you reminded me to see it.

It's co funded by a few Scottish film enterprises and in English although Refrn is Danish. Also check out his 'Pusher' trilogy for kinetic film. A superb director with years on his side to boot.

^I just looked through his IMDb page and apparently I've only seen Bronson. I've heard of this film Fear X, but wasn't aware it was the same director. I'll be definitely keeping my eyes on him. And that Pusher trilogy sounds interesting.

The Expendables
Not great by any means but still pretty enjoyable. As expected it was reminiscent of the kind of brawny 80s-style action movies they don't make anymore.

Repulsion
Crazy woman acts crazy for an hour and forty-five minutes. Yawn.

I'm beginning to suspect that I just don't like Roman Polanski movies overall.

It seemed pretty genuine. It gets very intense from the first 5 minutes, and it has some tough performances. I liked it.
