Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World

borrowed my friends copy for this, but now i think that i actually am going to buy it. Alot of fun, especially with the visual cues and graphics that were used everywhere, plus it was really funny. This was also, IMO, Michael Cera's best role to date, and i'm not even that big of a fan. the only thing that kept me from really enjoying it, though, was how the fight scenes were handled. I thought the fights themselves were awesome, but the camera had too many close shots and didn't really spread out to show the whole of the fight. other than that, awesome movie and one that i'm about to watch again, actually.

9/10

It was a pretty good movie. I prefer the newer version though holds my attention more. I could see why people would prefer the original. In the newer one they didn't have the owl which saved purseus' ass so many times and is quiet funny considering he's more of a comic relief character. Glad they didn't add him in the newer one. The animation was of course laughable being made all in claymation. I could see how people were upset when they found out the newer one didn't "stay true to the original." But, it was just a better film overall.

It's sort of a shame that that movie rendered Ray Harryhausen's work no longer commercially viable (people in 1981 pretty much had that same reaction)--the guy was seriously a genius in the field.

Anyway, this is the last movie I saw:

And I found it really amazingly interesting.

Dumb, stupid fun which had the feel of an 80's movie to me. Nothing spectacular but just watched it with my 12 year old son and we giggled a few times.

Classic Jason and the Argonauts is one of my favourite movies. The skeleton scene hopefully will never leave me.

Stop Motion>>>CGI
Not to mention Nancy Kovack was a fkn babe.

New COTT was very meh

Agreed. I was only watching Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger for the umpteenth time over the weekend and despite it's faults, Harryhausen is an absolute legend. Virtually all his work was shot by himself in his garage over many months.

Glenn Ford kicked so much ass in this movie by the end of it his feet probably permanently smelled of fart.
