What's The Latest Film You Have Seen?

Let's cut to the chase. I like B movies. You expect nothing from them but a mildly diverting 90 minutes. They don't cost a huge amount (in the grand scheme of film making), they are formulaic and appeal to my sense of nostalgia having grown up in the 80's video era where you ended up watching some absolute cracking films and some utter piles of crap because there was no internet then and most of those films didn't have a hope in hell of being on the T.V.

I understand B movies and forgive them for their faults because they are not trying to be anything else but late night beer viewing. Sometimes though they can be something a little more than that. After all George Clooney and Billy Bob Thornton both began in B movies and have made some decent films as actors and directors (not always of course) so to dismiss B movies entirely as a film fan is folly to me and then a little film pops up like this and you are glad that you are still a B movie fan.

Dolph Lundgren is a wooden actor and has made some terrible films in the past but now and again he can make a good movie and this is certainly one of them. Wrote and directed by himself, it's a tale very much in the Pale Rider/High Plains Drifter territory and is well directed, moody with decent cinematography and performances and this why I love B movies.

Every now and again you see a little gem that stands out from the crowd and makes me feel glad that I have the time and patience to explore the little films and it only cost me £1

After all these years I finally saw Blow. Enjoyed it and thought Johnny Depp was awsome in it. The ending well sad but most true stories are. Especially when dealing with the topic at hand. Great up and downs throughout the movie though.

while there's people out there badmouthing this movie, i thought it was alright. plot/story wise it was kind of a mess, and it gets really mean-spirited towards Ben Stiller's character a bit too much for my tastes, but it had enough laughs and i liked the characters enough that i could forgive it. really, i'd tell people to avoid this unless they like really dumb comedies with fart jokes and slapstick, and if you're a fan of the previous two movies.

wish i went to the other theater and paid only half of what i did, though. :/

...OK maybe not, but still, I can't believe how much praise this thing gets.

The Crazies (1973)

Oh dear...so disappointing. I can watch some bad horror movies, but this was just terrible. The blood scenes looked like a 5 year old sprayed the actors with red finger paint...and speaking of the actors, could they have been any worse? The concept was good, but geez it was so boring to watch. I loved all the "..of the Dead" movies, and would still love to check out more Romero, but I can't see myself watching this one again. Dare I say, the remake with Timothy Olyphant made for a much better viewing.

Spoiler for "Inception: I thought this movie made sense, don't watch it a second time if you already had a perfectly good explanation in your head. My perfectly good explanation was: ambiguous cop out ending where it could be reality or a dream. You have what you see on screen and 3 possibilities. The whole thing is a dream - He wakes up in a new world. He decides what the totem does, because he's dreaming. It's up to him. If you had a dream tonight where an object defined whether it was reality or a dream - you could make it do what you wanted. Same applies. The phrase "leap of faith" first used by Satio, is one that gets used a lot. Michael Caine's character tells Cobb to come back to reality. The scene where Cobb gets chased in Mombasa after meeting Tom Hardy's character, we never see how he got there, he was just in the middle of it. It was just a paranoid dream. The kids are wearing different clothes at the end, I guess he could have dreamed them wearing different clothes. Or, the ending isn't a dream... When he first remembers his kids, the daughter is wearing no sleeves. When he speaks to them on the phone and remembers them, she's wearing no sleeves. When he goes with Ellen in the lift down to limbo (at the beach), they're wearing totally different clothes. When he recalls the story of him fleeing after Mal being a loon, no sleeves. When he returns home at the end, she's wearing white sleeves. Unless I didn't noticed her wearing white sleeves at another point in the movie. He doesn't care about the totem at the end, is it losing its momentum but it doesn't matter, he finally sees their faces this time and they're wearing different clothes.
