^Oh man, I love The Thing

For those further interested in Carpenter, he's supposed to be "back in shape" with an episode from the series Masters of Horror which he directed. The episode is called John Carpenter's Cigarette Burns.

I've seen a few Masters Of Horror episodes, but not that one. The one's I have seen have been a bit of a mixed bag, of which the ones directed by John Landis and Takashi Miike have been by far the best.

Back to Carpenter though, I've heard good things about his latest full-length film the Ward. I should probably check that out sometime soon too.

I think I lost 50 IQ points after watching this film.

This scene pretty much sums up what this movie is all about for an hour and a half.

I agree, it's pretty to look at but that's about it imo.

I haven't even finished it yet because I just can't take it whenever I start watching it.

I'm loving these quiet, slow-moving indie flicks as of late. This one is about a girl trying to move to Alaska and while she's in Oregon she loses her dog. The rest of the movie is her trying to find it. Really great acting and atmosphere. 8.5/10

I know there's probably alot to it, but that sounds like an absolutely terrible movie.

Well, idk, there's definately more to it than that, but it is VERY minimal and quiet. Not very much happens at all. I have to be in a certain mood to like movies like this, and I happened to be in that mood today. Personally I thought it was pretty great.
