From what i've seen of the American one, the English one is by far and away the better of the two. And thats not just because i'm English and therefore everything English is better or anything but because the sheer amount of episodes of the American one just completely ruin the entire concept and all the reasons I have for loving the original.

The American one isnt bad by the way, from what i've seen of it but they may as well have just filmed it like a regular sitcom and completely done away with the original concept.

I try and watch it whenever it's on BBC, and I can't really pick which one's better. I think both are hilarious, but very differing from eachother.

Mock The Week and Would I Lie To You are genius, really starting to appreciate David Mitchell's humour and MTW definitely has the best comedians on it.
Got hooked on Grey's Anatomy and House from travelling as they are on European hotel channels all the time. Same with Ninja Warrior -much better than Takeshi's castle.
The Apprentice and The X Factor when they come round are strangely addictive, and Only Fools and Fawlty Towers repeats never get old.

Me and the GF are now watching Escape to River Cottage which we think is a great show.

Hugh leaves the city and moves into the cozy River Cottage in Dorset. His goal is to become somewhat self-sufficient with his own livestock, vegetable garden, game, fishing etc. It's a lot of hard work, but everything pays off. In every episode, he meets up with locals to go hunting, fishing, make cider, enter vegetable competitions and so on .. There's also quite a lot of cooking involved.

I realize this probably won't appeal to that many here, but me and my GF would very much like to do something similar with our lives in the future, so we like it. Those here who ever thought about moving into your own country cottage should watch it
