Watched 4 episodes of The queen's gambit and am still trying to figure out what's the attraction. It's certainly watchable, for a show centered on chess. Other than that, I can take it or leave it. Emotional resonance and connection with the characters is close to zero. And we're 4 hours in. :/

Also trying to finish the 6th season of Bojack Horseman but it's become such a drag that I kind of keep postponing watching the last few episodes.

Thankfully season 6 of Brookyn Nine-nine dropped and it's as good as ever...

Disenchantment is such an odd show to me. It feels like something that was once great, but is now stale in it's 20th season, yet it's brand spanking new.

Basically it feels like Groening's other recent work. Late stage simpsons and futurama revival. There's a little spark of something there but it's buried in such an unfortunate mediocrity.

That's an accurate analogy. After a while, Elfo's voice made me wanna jump out a window and the cheese factor was high. It was ok for some bg while I did other things.

Started watching Bates Motel - I know it's old but they restarted it and I always wanted to watch it. Very much enjoying it at the moment. Also watching World on Fire - great World War II adventure series; seven episodes in season one and waiting for season two as I only have two eps to go before this ends. Sean Bean is brilliant as a pacifist whose son and daughter both join up, Arthur Darvill (Rory from Dr Who) just came into it. And rewatching season two of Marley's Ghosts: the beautiful and sexy Sarah Alexander finds the ghosts of her two former lovers want to stay in the house with her. Quite funny, though I just watch it for her really.

Finished The Terror - Ridley Scott directing a Dan Simmons story, what could be better? VERY violent and if you're squeamish watch out: lots of nineteenth-century surgery, ie cutting off limbs with a saw and no anaesthetic, unless you count a wooden bar in the teeth.

Got a free month of Amazon Prime and while I'm using the free shipping for ancient classic books like Xenophon's Anabasis and Herodotus' Histories I've been watching The Boys which is a lot of fun but recently I've started The Marvelous Mrs Maisel which is thoroughly delightful and hilarious.

Yeah MMM is pretty good, at least the first season, it goes kind of down hill a bit after that and is generally a throwaway show, but it's a pleasant enough time-waster.

Well that sucks. Luckily I'm no analyst so maybe I won't notice.

It still hasn't gotten to the point of sucking, although by the end of season 3 I was starting to wonder what all this is about. Considering it's kind of a drama with some funny bits.

Not sure if you have Netflix but for some fun lady-fronted (pure) comedy, Crazy-ex girlfriend is the shizz. Plus, unlike MMM, it's finished so you can binge out.

I quit MMM early in season 2, but I have little patience with series. Season 1 was pretty fun, and Rachel Brosnahan is charming as hell

So I'm watching The Stranger on Netflix, which is an 8 part limited series (about 45 min each) and it is addictive as hell. Not sure if it will wrap up nicely in the end since there are a LOT of things going on, but it's a very tense yet fun ride so far (having seen 5/8 episodes). Recommended for anyone into mysteries.
