Heathers has several of the best movie lines of all time, but my favorite is
"Whether to kill yourself or not is the most important decision a teenager can make!"

Nice to see Seven Samurai on there, have you seen any of Kurosawa's other films? If not, I highly recommend Yojimbo, Sanjuro, and Rashomon.

I've seen a couple more: Ran (in colour! gorgeous, with all the flags) and another Shakespeare adaptation (Macbeth), and a fantastic one about a doctor. I liked all of them so I will definitely see the ones you mentioned

Did you end up watching Synecdoche Frownland?

I started it but wasn't in the right mindset to give it the focus that I felt it deserved. It's next on my queue when I'm in a movie mood.

Yeah it’s certainly not an easy watch for me. The existential themes alone can be pretty challenging but that’s one of the reasons I love it.

I just watched "Come and See" yesterday. Dear lord what a gut punching film. I feel like the most well known WW2 films in America deal more with heroism and action, but the Russian ones seem to deal more with survival and the horrors of the war. Watching Florya transform from dorky young teenaged kid wanting to join the partisan forces to an absolute husk of a human being was soul wrenching.
