Trailer didn't really impress me. Is it similar to The Blindness? I enjoyed that one. Anyway I'll give it a go, thanks for the rec.

French horror from the 60s, great, creepy film. Pretty influential too.

They might be good films, but there's lots of gore in them, which I loathe. You might think I'm nuts, but I found "The Blair Witch Project" amazing: no sophistication of FX at all, no gore either, and then it left me wondering... the 2nd part was despicable though.

why would you suggest the remake of Evil Dead? that shit has some gruesome gringe worthy gore type scenes. Definitely wouldn't be his thing.

It's not a conundrum at all. Poe or Lovecraft wrote horror stories and there was absolutely no gore whatsoever in them.
So yes indeed: horror, without gore.
"A Tale of 2 Sisters" (I've seen the Korean version) is a flawless example of this.

Yeah, that trailer looks innocent enough, but there are a couple that are just...dear God.
